Privacy Policy
Last updated July 26, 2026
Jelie is a food & drink discovery app operated by SKU1. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, what we do with it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we don’t show ads, and we don’t sell your personal data.
What we collect
- Sign-in identity. When you sign in with Apple we receive the name and email address Apple shares with us (which can be Apple’s private relay address if you choose to hide your email).
- Profile information you provide. Display name, username, bio, avatar photo, and the location text you enter on your profile.
- Things you do in the app. Your ratings, visits, notes, lists (“cuts”), comments, and photos, plus the places you interact with (save, rate, or view).
- Device information. Basic device and app information (such as device model, OS version, and app version) used to run and debug the Service.
How your content is shared with other users
Jelie is social: by default, your friends can see your ratings, visits, and activity. What’s visible is controlled by your visibility settings — content you set to private stays private to you. Cuts you explicitly share generate a link whose preview shows a teaser of the list to whoever holds the link. Your email address is never shown to other users.
Service providers we use
We share data with a small set of processors, only as needed to run Jelie:
- Supabase — hosting and database. All of the data above is stored here.
- Google Places, Yelp, and Foursquare — venue data enrichment. We send place lookups (names, addresses, coordinates) to fetch venue details. We do not send your identity with these lookups.
- Anthropic — automated content-safety screening of submitted text and parsing of menu photos.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication.
That’s the full list. We show no ads, use no advertising trackers, and do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account in-app at any time (Settings → Delete account). Deletion purges your personal data — profile, ratings, visits, notes, cuts, comments, and photos — from the Service. One narrow exception: content that was reported or removed by moderation may be retained for legal and appeal purposes.
Children
Jelie is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to use it. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
Contact
Jelie is a small independent app — privacy questions go straight to the person who built it: david@sku1.com. See also our Terms of Service.
